SJ S 1260 – steam engine

S 1260 (1200×513 px = 78 kB)

46 class S locomotives were built 1908–1916. They were used in passenger trains on secondary lines. S 1260 was built in the Waggon and Machinery Works in Falun in 1916. Between 1950 and 1960 all class S locomotives were replaced by diesels.

SJ Dg 207 – electric

321 class D locomotives were built 1925–1943. Up to 1933 the casing was made of teak wood and thereafter of steel. The D-class was used in fast passenger train as well as in cargo trains. Dg 207 was a cargo train hauler made by ASEA and Motala Works in 1933. The last D locomotive was retired 1988.

SJ Ds 424 – electric

321 class D locomotives were built 1925–1943. Up to 1933 the casing was made of teak wood and thereafter of steel. The D-class was used in fast passenger train as well as in cargo trains. Ds 424 was a passenger train hauler made by ASEA and Vagn- & Maskinfabriken in Falun in 1936. The last D locomotive was retired 1988.

SJ DFo6 Royal Mail Coach

11 Royal Mail Coaches of this type were built between 1933 and 1937. Nr 3181 was built by Kalmar Works AB 1937. Nr 3181 was taken out of service 1972.

 

SJ M 620 – electric

The 17 M-class locomotives were used as haulers of heavy cargo trains in Northern Sweden. M 620 was built in 1944 by ASJ in Falun with electric equipment from ASEA. M 620 is restored by SKÅJ and in mint operable condition.

SJ F 701 – electric

The 24 F-class locomotives were used in heavy express trains. They were operated in 30 years on the main lines Stockholm–Gothenburg–Malmoe. F 701 was built in 1949 by Motala Works and ASEA. F 701 is restored and operated by SKÅJ.

SJ Hg 787 – electric

65 Hg class locomotives were built 1947–1951. They were used in light cargo trains and regional passenger trains and retired from service 1992. After the withdrawal Hg 787 belonged to the Swedish Railway Museum in Gävle until it was sold to SKÅJ in 2008. It is in operable condition.

32 Ma class locomotives were delivered to SJ 1953–1960. They were used in cargo trains and passenger trains in Northern Sweden. Ma 958 was retired from service 2010.
